Rev John Seaton was the Episcopal Church (All Saints) chaplain from 1903 to 1917.

He was born in Southampton and moved a few times in his childhood due to his clergyman father’s appointments. He was a student at King’s College, University of London, and after early ministry training was an assistant to Rev William Strickland at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Carlisle.

He married William Strickland’s daughter, Dora, in 1904, at St Paul’s, Carlisle, and had one daughter.

John was a co-founder of the Langholm Tennis Club which opened in 1904.

In 1917 he transferred to Doddington, Lincolnshire.
